My theory is the difference connection makes.<\/p>\n<p>When we feel connected to someone \u2014\u00a0colleagues, even, or in a parasocial relationship facilitated by social media \u2014 we tend to have a more favorable opinion of them. <strong>Simply: we trust them more.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By using social media as an executive, you\u2019re building trust through transparency with your team and encouraging leads, customers, and peers to trust you too.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span id=\"How_to_build_a_social_media_strategy_for_executives\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" id=\"post-444780-_r7a4j6ojn8pw\"\/>How to build a social media strategy for executives<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" id=\"post-444780-_d5rqhpidk23g\"\/>Set goals<\/h3>\n<p>You don\u2019t need to list out a multi-page <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.hootsuite.com\/how-to-create-a-social-media-marketing-plan\/\">social media strategy<\/a> document complete with quarterly KPIs, rigid topics, or a defined schedule of daily actions.<\/p>\n<p>But you should at least have an outline of a strategy. What do you want to get out of posting on social media?<\/p>\n<p>A few goal ideas are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grow your network with industry peers<\/li>\n<li>Increase talent recruitment and fill open positions<\/li>\n<li>Encourage your employees to share online and build their personal social media brands, too<\/li>\n<li>Create a company culture of content development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of course, there are many more possible goals. Yours may change as you start sharing online and discover new benefits to doing so, but have at least one or two goals to start.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" id=\"post-444780-_kx7fe5s2rf30\"\/>Pick the right networks<\/h3>\n<p>Where will you post as an executive on social media? The obvious choice is LinkedIn \u2014 the world\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.hootsuite.com\/linkedin-demographics-for-business\/\">largest professional social network<\/a> \u2014 and you should definitely be on there. For some executives, it may be the only social platform you need.<\/p>\n<p>But don\u2019t overlook other great options.
