But while Instagram has passionate fans (see our previous stats), social media users spend far more time using other apps \u2014 a little over <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/1287283\/time-spent-youtube-app-selected-countries\/\">23 hours on YouTube<\/a> a month.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">9. 66,000 photos are shared on Instagram <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/195140\/new-user-generated-content-uploaded-by-users-per-minute\/\">every minute<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>We can\u2019t confirm how many of those are <em>good <\/em>photos, but that\u2019s a staggering amount of content regardless.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" id=\"post-440346-_vxxtde9xpqff\"\/>10. 69.9% of Instagrammers use the app to <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gwi.com\/\">post or share photos or videos<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>And 64% use Instagram to seek out funny or entertaining content. The United States has the second-largest Instagram advertising audience, with over 143 million users.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" id=\"post-440346-_w8n34zkx5wgf\"\/>18. 48.2% of Instagram users are <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/802776\/distribution-of-users-on-instagram-worldwide-gender\/\">female<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>51.8% are male.
