Data Cloud can now surface insights from unstructured audio and video data to AgentForce, giving it a more complete context for its actions.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, when a customer engages with an AgentForce agent, Data Cloud can surface insights and context from email correspondence, past service events, voicemails, etc., to help AgentForce understand the customer\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<p>Data Cloud also recommends next-best steps for Agentforce, like generating follow-up emails or delivering chat summaries to human representatives.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Dig deeper: <\/em><\/strong><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/martech.org\/salesforce-launches-new-more-trustworthy-generation-of-ai-bots\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>Salesforce launches<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>new, \u2018more trustworthy\u2019 generation of AI bots<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Shout out to the data lakes.<\/strong> Data Cloud not only works on data already housed in Salesforce applications. It also has \u201czero copy\u201d capabilities to draw on data from third-party networks such as Databricks and Snowflake. The emphasis on these capabilities <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/martech.org\/what-the-composability-revolution-means-for-cdps\/\" target=\"_blank\">reflects the trend<\/a> toward enterprises relying on data lakes and warehouses to store customer <em>and<\/em><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/span>enterprise-wide data.<\/p>\n<p>Asked whether Data Cloud was a competitor to cloud-based data lakes like Databricks and Snowflake, Auradkar said: \u201cWe co-exist with them.\u201d He also emphasized that Data Cloud not only represent the biggest upgrade to the Salesforce platform; \u201cIt\u2019s also an upgrade to Databricks and Snowflake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why we care.<\/strong> It\u2019s not a surprise given Marc Benioff\u2019s impassioned touting of Data Cloud over the past year, but Salesforce is clearly intent on insisting that this is not just a smart CDP activating a troop of bots but a radical transformation of its offering. Certainly, the recent announcements, including today\u2019s, do represent more significant changes than tinkering with various versions of Customer360 applications. We\u2019ll wait to see just how powerful these new capabilities are \u2014 and how Adobe and Oracle respond.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Huge AI investment through Salesforce Ventures. <\/strong>Another Dreamforce announcement worthy of note is the new $500 million AI fund administered by Salesforce Ventures.
