But without effective internal leadership, this enthusiasm will fizzle out over time. This is the visual guide, including how to use the company logo, unique terms or spelling your company uses (e.g., it\u2019s Hootsuite, not HootSuite!), hashtags to include, and more.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Guidelines, especially content ones, aren\u2019t meant to police your employees. The right guidelines should clearly state what\u2019s off-limits while allowing for authentic expression.<\/p>\n<p>Clear guidelines also help protect your company\u2019s reputation and avoid <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.hootsuite.com\/social-media-security-for-business\/\">security risks<\/a>. Some guidelines are common sense \u2014 for instance, avoiding vulgar or disrespectful language or sharing confidential information. Other guidelines may need input from the legal department.<\/p>\n<p>Make sure the guidelines are easy to understand and follow.
